British tycoon and owner of the Segway company, Jimi Heseldon, has died after reportedly driving one of the firm’s motorized two-wheelers off a cliff and into a river near his estate in Thorp Arch, Boston Spa, West Yorkshire, on Sunday, according to news reports.

“Police were called at 11.40am yesterday to reports of a man in the River Wharfe, apparently having fallen from the cliffs above,” a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police force told reporters.

Coda Automotive, the California based electric car company, is set to start delivering the first wave of its electric compact sedans this December for a price-tag of $44,900, before state and federal incentives. Federal incentives will bring the starting price down to $37,400, and with California state incentives considered, the final price could be as low as $32,400.

In response to numerous media requests (or so the company claims), small-scale Canadian automaker Motive has released the first official images of its hemp-bodied EV city car, the Kestrel. The car was unveiled at the EV 2010 VÉ Conference and Tradeshow in Vancouver recently.

As previously reported by Carscoop, the Kestrel is a cab-forward design that seats four. It is made of a bio-fibre (hemp) based composite that is said to reduce weight, resist rust and increase impact absorption.
