If you recently purchased a 2010 Jaguar XFR or an XKR and are looking for some high-speed driving lessons, Jaguar has just announced the launch of its R Performance Academy. Beginning December 1, Jaguar will offer sessions at Homestead Miami Speedway, which features 2.21 miles of challenging asphalt and 14 turns.

Starting 2010, the Academy will visit various tracks, including the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Monticello Motor Club in Monticello, New York and the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, among others, on a quarterly basis.

Four Door Media, Inc, designer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialized computer based products and accessories, today announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with multinational car manufacturer, Jaguar Cars, Ltd. The company is now authorized by Jaguar to design its car-shaped, wireless and wired optical computer mouse products, Road Mice(TM) (www.RoadMice.com) in the shape of Jaguar’s hottest current and classic vehicles. With the new agreement, Four Door Media will develop and market various Jaguar automobile replicas that function as computer mice or pointing devices.

Never satisfied with the factory Jaguars, German tuner Arden has introduced its take on the revised 2010 Jaguar XKR Convertible. Arden starts by hiking the performance of the new 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that gains 30 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque for a total output of 540 horsepower and 675 Nm (498 lb-ft). A sport suspension with new shocks and the removal of the electronic speed limiter complete the changes under the skin.

Jaguar manages to continue on its quest to distance itself from the past by pushing the envelope at each and every turn. But there are still remnants worth holding on to, like the R designation it uses to refer to high performance variants of production models.
