Designed for executives and heads of state, the car features specialized high strength steels (with Kevlar backing), an armored inner cell, and “substantial under floor grenade protection.” Thanks to all these additions, the Sentinel has a ballistic protection rating of B7. If car bombs are more up your alley, you’ll be happy to know the car can withstand a “close proximity” blast from 15kg (33 lbs) of TNT.

Often times anniversaries are focused on the the past, not so for Jaguar, who has decided to celebrate its 75-year anniversary with a celebration dubbed “75 Years of Looking Forward,” with the first forward-looking statement being a flashy XJ75 Platinum Concept.

Jaguar says that the XJ75 Platinum is a “one-of-a-kind” design and the first demonstration of the true customization potential found within the latest XJ straight from the factory.

Jaguar

Jaguar has officially launched the limited edition 2011 XKR175 Coupe. Marking the car’s first North American appearance, the XKR175 will debut at the McCalls Motorworks Revival at the Monterey Jet Center during the Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend.

Jaguar originally stated that the XKR175 would come packing 530 horsepower and 483 lb-ft of torque, but those figures have apparently been watered down. The 2011 XKR175 will hit showrooms with a more modest rating of 510 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque, good for a top speed of 174mph.

influence the marketing, PR and communications agency facilitated and played a key role in creating a unique partnership between Jaguar Cars UK and TEAMORIGIN, the British America’s Cup team, for a summer of sailing in 2010.

‘TEAMORIGIN Racing with Jaguar’ will first be seen racing next week at Cowes when the team takes on the current America’s Cup holders, BMW Oracle, in a series of four races including one ‘round the island’ for the newly created 1851 Cup event.

A CAR reader’s ride up the hill in the Jaguar XKR 75CAR reader Archie Robertson, from Hertfordshire, won a money-can’t-buy prize at the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed thanks to CAR Magazine and Jaguar: an XFR super saloon for the weekend and VIP tickets to Goodwood including an unforgettable ride up the hill. Archie and his wife Judy spent Friday at the Festival of Speed with Jaguar hospitality thrown in. But the highlight of the day was a ride in the new Jaguar XKR 75, sitting alongside Jaguar’s chief chassis guru and driving legend Mike Cross, as he slithered and rocketed up Lord March’s front drive.
