The Alfa Romeo 4C Concept made its debut at the 81st Geneva International Motor Show, a compact “supercar” which represents the true essence of a sports car, according to the brand’s values: performance, Italian style and technical excellence aimed at maximum driving pleasure in total safety.
The new concept presents the classic formula of the two-seater, rear-wheel drive coupé with its engine at the centre, a length of approximately 4 metres and a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres: dimensions which serve both to emphasise the compact size of the car and to accentuate its agility. Distinguished by its graceful and clean external lines, the same principles are also applied to the inside, with the Concept’s specific on-board design maintaining features and devices which directly reflect the car’s sporting spirit.

Reports suggest that Alfa Romeo is planning a compact SUV that will debut late next year and will compete with the likes of the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLK and the Audi Q5. Known internally as the C-SUV, the compact Alfa Romeo SUV will help the brand reposition itself as luxury competitor in Europe and North America. The Alfa Romeo C-SUV will be the first new Alfa since last year’s Giulietta (pictured above). It is scheduled to enter production at Fiat’s Mirafiori plant in Turin. It will be produced alongside a new Jeep SUV that will replace the Compass and Patriot. In 2014, Alfa Romeo also has plans to produce a large SUV based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Tuning package for the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider and Coupe variants includes a supercharger that adds 150 HP

Italian tuner Novitec has spruced-up the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider/Coupe to make this the most powerful Alfa Romeo around.

The tuning kit begins with a new supercharger for the 4.7 liter V8, borrowed from sister outfit Novitec Tridente, which specializes in tuning Maserati. But the supercharger had to be modified to fit under the 8C’s bonnet.

Alfa Romeo is reported delaying its return to the States until 2013 because Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne is unhappy with the proposed vehicle designs bound for the U.S. Marchionne cited manufacturing and styling issues that need fixing before the 2013 Alfa Romeo Giulia is ready to be released both in the States and abroad.
