Lamborghini’s four-door Estoque concept has been in a holding pattern since it debuted at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, but the Italian automaker has revealed that it is considering moving forward with the car’s production plans.

Lamborghini hasn’t said much about the Estoque project since early 2009, but the company’s CEO recently revealed that the car’s production plans are once again under review.

In a scene straight out of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Porsche 911 GT3 partake in a friendly race along the streets of downtown Sweden. The two-part video features the two supercars taking turns revving it up and blasting along the dark and desolate street.

But what makes this video a lot more interesting happens at the start of the second video where, in true law enforcing fashion, a police car shows up and starts chasing to the Lambo and Porsche. Unfortunately for the officers giving chase in God-knows-what vehicle, reality – or in this case, a massive dose of horsepower advantage – starts to kick in and the overwhelmed cop car gets lost in the two supercar’s collective dust.

Not only is this one of just 48 Lamborghini LM002 Americans produced, but it’s the only “Rambo Lambo” we’ve ever seen finished in color-shifting DuPont ChromaLusion paint. That may be a good thing, depending on your personal sense of style and how it meshes with your image of Lamborghini. These Italian Hummers were built for military use but never really caught on. Maybe those expensive and fragile Countach V12s in the engine bay had something to do with it. Even after Lamborghini switched to the more robust Diablo mills, the trucks were still relegated to private service, mainly in the fleets of wealthy sheiks and celebs.

Lamborghini is celebrating a production record as the ten thousandth Gallardo rolls off the line.

The V10 Lamborghini Gallardo, with its permanent four-wheel drive, has become the most successful Lamborghini model of all time.

Starting with the original Gallardo Coupé launched in 2003, the model range was later extended with Spyder and Superleggera models.
