Automakers try to keep upcoming models secret, meting out limited details on their own terms until the vehicle in question makes its debut. But the best laid plans of mice and men, wrote Steinbeck, often go awry. And in many cases, it’s government agencies that can be held responsible, whether it’s the vice-president leaking information or a patent offices releasing regulatory sketches.

Tired of hearing about the Lamborghini Aventador? Good – neither are we – but we’ll make this one short and sweet. Apparently, word on the street is that we will see a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster as early as next year.

Nothing has been confirmed by Lamborghini but we don’t expect to see a drop-top version of the Aventador until 2013. Why? Well, the Aventador’s predecessor, the Murcielago, made its debut in 2002. The Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster didn’t make its debut until two years later in 2004.

We all remember Lamborghini Gallardo SE unveiled at the 2005. The edition was limited to merely 250 copies and was offered with two-tone body paint. Now as the Gallardo is coming to an end, Lamborghini is looking to give its fans a few special edition options. First of all there will be Gallardo Bicolore special edition which is expected to be launched by 2011, most likely in the Detroit Auto show and deliveries are to start in February 2011.

Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., manufacturer of the world’s most exclusive super sports cars, unveiled the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante at a private event in West Hollywood, Calif. The worldwide debut set a new benchmark in the open top super sports car category, utilizing carbon fiber technology to achieve a vehicle that’s even lighter, more agile and more dynamic than the open top models before it.

Lamborghini’s replacement for the Murcielago, which will make its world debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show
in March, will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20 percent without sacrificing any performance.
