Car tuning

The Davis Mark II limited edition tribute is the latest addition to Project Kahn’s long line of tuned Range Rovers. We are not sure who the vehicle is named after, but for educational purposes [sic…] we found several people with the name Mark Davis on Wikipedia ranging from a British adult film actor to a cricketer, so feel free to take your pick. Back to the tune, Project Kahn’s newest creation is based on the 2011 Range Rover Sport powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel and comes with both styling and performance modifications.

For those Maserati Quattroporte owners seeking a bit more flair from the Italian sports sedan, German tuning house MR Car Design has prepared a mild performance package. Starting with a pre-facelift model, MR Car Design’s engineers tweak the 4.2-litre V8 engine’s software and add a custom exhaust system lifting output by 30HP and 29Nm for a total of 430-horses and 480Nm (352 lb-ft) of peak torque.

Built for a customer in Florida, the car has an aggressive body kit with new bumpers, revised side skirts, a trunk-mounted spoiler and a prominent rear diffuser. Other highlights include a stainless steel sport exhaust system, a hydraulic lift-up suspension and 20/21-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, designers added carbon fiber trim, an Alcantara sports steering wheel and special floor mats with the MEC logo

After the axing of the Fiat Coupe in 2000, the Italian brand’s range was left without a coupe. And that’s where British designer Peter Norris steps in with a new study that envisions a future sports car model for Fiat. However, this concept would not necessarily make a successor to the affordable Fiat Coupe, as the car carries a Pininfarina badge, thus hinting to a more luxurious model.

With its 700 horsepower and jaw-dropping styling, the recently launched Lamborghini Aventador hardly needs a tuning job. However, that’s not what the crew over at Oakley Design believe, as the UK-based aftermarket specialist recently unveiled plans for an extensively upgraded Aventador.

As the name LP760-2 indicates, Oakley Design wants to add 60 horsepower to the V12 engine’s output and to trade the all-wheel-drive system for a more dramatic Diablo-reminiscent rear-wheel-drive setup. Here’s how these ambitious targets will be accomplished. The power increase will come from a re-mapped ECU, larger intake pipe diameter and a titanium exhaust system that will also save over 30 kilograms. The result will be 760 horsepower and 745 Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque, a gain of almost 10 percent compared to factory engine.
