Common rail.
cdi stands for “common rail direct injection†and in expert circles, it is synonymous with a quantum leap in engine technology.
A central high-pressure pump generates an extremely high maximum pressure of 1,350 bar in the common fuel line — the common rail -– and at the injection nozzles. In addition, an electronic control system ensures that the fuel is injected into the combustion chambers in ultra-fine doses. The advantage: clean, maximum-efficiency combustion.
Fit for the fast lane.
Small, efficient and all set for the fastlane. The turbo diesel engine with common rail direct injection produces plenty of torqueeven at low revs. The maximum torque is an impressive 79.8 lb-ft at 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. You’ll soon notice the difference on steep hills.
