Land Rovers from blockbuster movies and TV shows will join several other special LR models at this year’s “LANDROVERmax!” happening, to be held at Stoneleigh Park in the West Midlands region of England from 28th to 30th August.

Among the vehicles to go on display at the event is the futuristic Land Rover City Cab (pictured above) from Sylvester Stallone’s 1995 film, Judge Dredd. A total of 31 examples of the fiberglass-bodied City Cab were made for the movie, which was set in the year 2139.

British tuning house Project Kahn has updated its Range Rover Sport Vesuvius edition with a new model based on the freshly facelifted version of Land Rover’s SUV. The 2010 Range Rover Sport Vesuvius sports the same black and orange color theme inside and out with its predecessor, adding a new front grille, modified aero parts and restyled 22 inch alloy wheels to the mix. The European tuner Unichip has unveiled a new tuning package for the Land Rover Discovery Series 2. Called the “Sport Conversion,” the new package increases the engine’s power to 176 bhp (49 bhp over the standard model) at 4000 rpm and 279 lb.ft of torque at 2957 rpm (an increase of 63 lb.ft). For this power increase, Unichip added a new ‘U-Connect’ plug and play Unichip ECU, designed and developed specifically for the TD5.

Victoria Beckham will design the interior of the Range Rover Evoque, as she takes up a new role as creative design executive with Land Rover.

The new Range Rover ‘coupe’ was unveiled at Kensington Palace last night, where it was also announced that Mrs Beckham will work on designs for a special edition of the Evoque.

The Land Rover Discovery 4, launched in September 2009, has been awarded ‘Britain’s Best Towcar’ in the annual Practical Caravan, The Camping & Caravanning Club & What Car? Towcar awards 2010.

The Land Rover Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 XS, which features a class-leading 3500kgs towing ability and comes with optional intelligent towing technologies such as Tow Assist and Trailer Stability Assist, won its class and the overall title emphatically against tough competition from the likes of the Mercedes Benz E350 CDI Blue Efficiency Sport Estate, the Volvo XC60 D5 SE Geartronic, the Range Rover Sport 3.0-litre TDV6 HSE and the Kia Sedona 2.2 CRDi 3 auto.
