Retail customers ordering an economical new Citroen C3 or a spacious C3 Picasso – which is then registered in September – will be rewarded with a Citroen gift card – pre-loaded with £500 to spend at any major retail outlet.

Citroën DS3 voted one of coolest thingsCitroën’s DS3 has been named one of 2010′s coolest things in the world

Citroën’s DS3 has been named one of 2010′s coolest things in the world by British gadget magazine Stuff.

Set for an October arrival in New Zealand, the DS3 was chosen for the publication’s annual Cool List, which features 15 “ground-breaking modern classics”.

These are the first ‘real life’ pictures of Citroën’s latest concept car, the Metropolis, that gives certain German makers (see Porsche and BMW) a lesson or two on how to design an eye-candy luxury sports saloon.

The styling of the 5.3m long and 2m wide but only 1.4m high Metropolis has echoes of the French automaker’s well received GT supercar concept of 2008. This one was developed by Citröen’s Shanghai-based design team.

Under the subtle “Pearl Silk” colored bodywork there’s a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that utilizes “an optimized” 2.0-liter V6 petrol engine, an electric motor and a 7-speed, dual-clutch electronic gearbox.

London Wasps rugby stars Tom Rees and Serge Betsen recently spent an afternoon in a head to head off-road challenge. The action packed, mud-plugging event was arranged by Citroen, the official car supplier to London Wasps.

The players learned how to handle the four-wheel-drive Citroën C-Crossers on a tough off-road course and were judged on car control and smoothness of the ride.
