Xenatec is using the Geneva Motor Show to unveil its one-off Cruiserio Coupe, a customer-ordered hyper-luxury car based on the Maybach 57S. The coupe was designed by Fredrik Burchhardt to a customer’s exact specs, then hand-built by the Xenatec team.

Outside, the Xenatec Cruiserio Coupe is swathed in a two-tone matte finish that’s designed to give a brassy shimmer in the light. Xenatec says the paint was hand-applied in several stages to get the look just so.

The first Maybach 57S Coupe, dubbed the Cruiserio, is up for sale in Saudi Arabia.

Created by Xenatec, the Maybach-endorsed conversion was designed by Burch Fred Hardt (the man who penned the Exelero concept) and features sporty, yet conservative styling.

Aston Martin and Daimler are apparently becoming chummy right now. According to The Financial Times, the two automakers are chatting about a possible relationship centered around Daimler’s super-luxe Maybach sedan. Aston Martin is reportedly looking to glean some powertrain knowledge from the German automaker (for a possible Lagonda revival?) and Daimler could use help reviving a car that few are buying.

It has been reported numerous times that Daimler AG’s Maybach brand will soon die after being starved of new products. That might not be the case anymore with some new leadership in town and some new products in the pipeline.

Daimler board member, Joachim Schmidt, who was recently brought back to run Daimler’s sales and marketing, apparently sees plenty of new opportunities for Maybach vehicles in China, North American, Middle East and Russia.

The Maybach Exelero is probably one of the hottest uber-luxury coupes we’ve ever laid eyes on – however, the only problem is that Daimler only made one of them for Fulda Tyres, which used the car as test bed for a generation of wide tires.

If you want one and have about $670,000 just laying around in your bank account, a Switzerland based company will create one for your… well, not exactly. The company is offering a replica that uses a 2010 Dodge Viper powered by a 8.3L V10 engine making some 800-hp.
