But unfortunately for anyone who may have thought the iQ would be their next ride, a breaking inside scoop by Green Car Reports will bust your plans. According to the inside scoop directly from Toyota, Scion has decided to push the release date back until summer of this year – citing a couple reasons.

Scion announced today that it will be displaying its latest limited-production vehicle, the 2011 xB Release Series 8.0 (xB RS 8.0), in the Scion booth at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Nov. 17-28, 2010. The xB RS 8.0 will begin arriving in dealerships later this month.

With the annual SEMA Show near the world’s most famous Strip almost upon us (November 2 to 5), automakers and tuners alike are rushing in to give us an early preview of their custom proposals. The most recent case-in-point: the “All Stretched Out Cartel xB”.

Global creative agency ATTIK and Scion are heralding the September launch for their campaign for the all new 2011 Scion tC sports coupe with cross-media promotions now appearing in U.S. print, online, and cable television, and on billboards that debuted this week in 24 key U.S. cities. Providing glimpses of the 2011 tC, which offers added power and performance, an aggressive new look, and a more premium feel, each facet of the teaser campaign invites viewers to “Enter the Machine: 09/2010.”

The redesigned 2011 Scion tC will be arriving in showrooms starting October and will be followed by the all-new Scion iQ minicar in 2011. While the Scion brand was originally conceived with a three-product lineup, parent Toyota is looking to expand the brand’s appeal to a much broader audience.

The lineup will be “a mix of evolution and revolution” in the future, said Jack Hollis, vice president of Scion. “I don’t think Scion needs to be reinvented, but we need to find the next dimension.”
