Mini CooperThe AIADA newsletter reported that according to CNN, carmaker MINI is preparing to launch a new special edition of the subcompact icon outfitted by its ultra-luxury cousin Rolls-Royce.

Both British automakers are owned by Germany’s BMW. The special edition cars will go into production in 2010 as 2011 model year cars.

It has not been decided yet whether the cars will be available in the United States. If they are made available to U.S. customers, they’ll be in extremely limited numbers, said a company spokesperson.

Attempting to follow in the success of other retro hatchbacks – such as the Fiat 500 – Citroen will produce a new-age version of its iconic 2CV, a new report finds. The new model will be largely based on the Revolte concept that made its world debut at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

Acura has released the pricing details on the new 2010 Acura ZDX crossover, which will arrive at dealerships starting Dec. 15. Pricing will start at $45,495 for the base ZDX.

The 2010 Acura ZDX with a Technology Package will run you $49,995 and will ad Acura’s Navigation System with Voice Recognition, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic with Traffic Rerouting, AcuraLink Real-Time Weather with radar image maps, a full VGA display screen and an innovative new multi-view rear camera. It also includes an upgraded Acura/ELS Surround 415-watt Premium Audio System with a built-in 15-gigabyte hard disk drive media storage system, a GPS-linked, solar-sensing, dual-zone automatic climate control system and Keyless Access System.

Pricing remains under $30,000 again in 2010, with the starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price* (M.S.R.P.) of $29,990 USD for the 370Z Coupe with 6-speed manual transmission.A limited edition 40th Anniversary Package with unique content and an exclusive exterior/interior color combination, celebrating 40 years of the iconic Z, will be available in spring 2010. Hyundai

hyundai_logo.jpgAfter speaking directly with Hyundai, Leftlane has learned that, despite yesterday’s reports to the contrary, the Korean automaker does not have any intention to open a plant in Mexico.

A report that originated with Edmunds yesterday indicated that the government agency Promexico was in negotiations with Hyundai over a new factory in the state of Veracruz.
