BMW M3 Sedan

At the season finale of the 2009 MotoGP in Valencia, BMW honored nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi with the ‘M Award’ for being the fastest man over the seventeen rounds of this year’s GP. The grand prize was a brand new BMW M3 Sedan, the fifth bimmer that Rossi has won in this competition over the past few years. Along with the award and the new car, BMW also gave Rossi the opportunity to get a taste of its new 450HP-strong M3 GTS Coupe, which made its first public debut at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit.

We’re not sure how many of you follow the Britcar Championship, but even if you don’t, we gather that you’ll appreciate these photos of John Danby Racing team’s newly developed (and oh-so sizzling hot) Honda NSX racer. The matte black Japanese sportscar was built to comply with the Britcar Production regulations and has already completed a successful shakedown test at Snetterton in Norfolk last Friday ahead of its debut at the season’s final round at Brands Hatch on November 7.

Sounds like science fiction? In fact it already exists — Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis has one. So does Honda president Takanobu Ito.

Yet while some see them as the ultimate environmentally-friendly automobiles, the high production cost means that affordable hydrogen-powered fuel-cell cars are still more of a dream than reality.

Manufacturers such as Honda, however, are making a renewed push behind the vehicles, which run on electricity generated by a reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, belching out nothing more harmful than water vapour.
