Have just started driving my 2010 VW Golf 1,6 TDI Highline with 7 speed automatic. Have driven about 1200 kilometers in town, on the highway, and on country roads. My last 6 cars were Mercedes and BMWs. This is my first diesel. Without doubt, this VW is the best when it comes to sporty feel and cornering on the country roads, and acceleration and solid control at higher speed on highway driving. The low fuel consumption is fantastic. Quality of the interior is excellent. My only complaint is that the response from standing, for example, when you have to jump into a traffic circle, is a bit slow for the first second or two. Then it really takes off to make up for the slow start. My BMW with automatic seemed quicker in the first moments when you decide to "go for it!" Maybe I just have to get used to slow initial response. Anyone else have an opinion on this issue? Joe
