I live in Pune, India. I have seen the traffic jams in some European cities, and in few other cities of India. In my experience, Pune drivers / riders have the worst traffic sense! Very few here know the traffic rules and follow them, rest don’t have a clue about the rules and common sense either! Traffic cops encourage people to use the wrong side of the roads in peak hours and that becomes routine even in normal hours. This approach solves the short term problems, but no one realizes that it creates a major chaos when one looks at it in a long term perspective!

Bengaluru (India) is also pretty bad for traffic jams. Still there are railway crossings in the city (which has expanded in area since, say 50 years ago). Moreover, too many one-ways and unfinished flyovers which take long time to complete.
Namma metro has been delayed so much, that they have shortened the Phase 2 plan (Yelahanka was supposed to have metro in phase 2, but it has been shortened now till Nagawara). That too, if it takes off and completes in time.

It is undoubtedly HYDERABAD(India)…I’ll tell you how HORRIBLE it is….it often provokes me to quit my job…and Iam seriously planning to do it and considering work from home options.
The roads are so BAD you wonder if they exist at all….the dust, smoke and heat in traffic jams can make you feel like a burnt dead rat….very depressing and disgusting man….never come to hyderabad…..its full of shitty bureaucrats..corrupt government…and illeterate ministers…its a shit hole…..never ever come to hyderabad.

Jakarta is the worst. Hands down. Trust me it is downright. I work 8km from my office and it is not unusual for a 1.5 to 2hr journey in the evening. Its not suitable for walking either due to lack of pavements and safety. The corrupt Indonesian government are years away from a solution. The last attempt of a monorail was shelved due to ‘mismanagement of funds’. The words ‘pissup’ and ‘brewery’ come to mind. Can’t wait till my contract finishes so I can get out of the place. Über dump.

Hyderabad baby..
In India, Hyderabad’s got the worst unruly traffic..
Even Mumbai’s is pretty much the same; but motorists atleast respect each other a little in Mumbai, not at all in Hyderabad. Hyderabad’s first for notoriety and unruliness.
In the US – Los Angeles.
In Canada, Toronto.
