As expected, along with the commercial debut of the new, sixth-generation Golf GTI, Volkswagen also went ahead and launched a new line of lifestyle accessories dedicated to its hot hatch. For the time being, the range is limited to baby caps, a women’s hat, a messenger bag and our personal favorite, ‘Mud Flap’ baby bibs with the GTI logo, but expect to see Volkswagen rolling out more GTI accessories in the forthcoming months.

Ford’s assembly plant in Chicago will be responsible for building the next-generation version of the Explorer SUV, reports the Chicago Tribunal. Union leaders said that Ford executives agreed to produce the new Explorer at its Chicago facility as a part of a recent deal with the UAW to cut pay and benefits.

New York-based jewelry designers Tiret and British auto designers LSE, known for their two-door Range Rover conversions, have worked together to build the new Tiret Coupe. Based on the Range Rover Sport, the Tiret model is built with “diamonds and Swiss precision,” along with other luxe materials.

German tuners Abt Sportsline will be giving their new Abt Q5 a power boost. The company already increases horsepower on the 2.0-liter TFSI from 211 to 240, but the tuner firm says a 275hp upgrade will be available in due time. The 3.0-liter TDI is available with up 310 hp and 611 Nm of torque.
