Subaru

subaru-logo.jpgSubaru has maintained a five-star safety rating across its entire range, with new generation Liberty and Outback scoring highly in the latest round of crashworthiness testing by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

Both new Liberty and Outback were awarded 34.8 out of a possible 37 points, gaining a five-star rating for occupant safety.

In addition to dual front, side and curtain airbags, both models also introduce a driver’s knee airbag.

Mercedes

This is Mercedes-Benz’s B-Class F-Cell, the company’s first ever series production fuel-cell car. According to the German automaker, production will begin in late 2009 with the first of around 200 examples of the hydrogen-electric hybrid to be delivered to customers in Europe and the USA at the beginning of next year. Based on the B-Class hatch, the F-Cell uses a new generation fuel cell system, in which gaseous hydrogen reacts with atmospheric oxygen at 700 bar to generate a current for the electric motor, with water as a by-product.

Audi

Along with the supercharged S5 Sportback, Audi’s Frankfurt motorshow stand will also host the world premiere of two more new models, the A3 with a new 1.2 TFSI and the Euro-6 compliant A4 3.0 TDI clean diesel quattro. Starting off with the A3, the 1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with direct-injection produces an output of 105 HP and 175Nm (129lb.-ft.) of torque between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm.

Ferrari


We are more than aware of the fact that you can’t get enough of Ferrari’s latest supercar, so we couldn’t pass the chance to share with you this video showing a pair of 458 Italia prototypes that were caught on the road in Maranello, Italy, by Youtube user “marchettino”. Due to make its world debut in Frankfurt, the Pininfarina-styled Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a new 4.5-liter V8 engine churning out 570HP, good enough to propel the Prancing Horse model from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in under 3.4 sec.

Mitsubishi

mitsubishi_logo.jpgitsubishi Motors Corporation today announced global production, as well as domestic sales and export figures for July 2009.

Production: total and in Japan

Total global production for July came in at 63,540 units, a decline of 45.6 percent over July 2008 and the seventeenth consecutive monthly decrease since March 2008. Production volume in Japan at 35,781 units was down 54.2 percent as a 60.6 percent decrease in passenger car (27,385 units) and a 3.6 percent fall in commercial vehicle (8,396 units) output over the same month last year saw year-on-year output fall for the ninth consecutive month.
