Nissan

nissan-logo.jpgDespite previous promises to test the new fully electric Nissan Leaf in limited markets in Japan and the US before going global by 2012, Nissan has now inked a deal to bring the Leaf to Mexico’s capital in 2011.

Mexico City is hoping to use the Nissan Leaf to promote ecologically friendly modes of transportation in a city known for its severe smog-based pollution.

The Renault-Nissan alliance will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary later this year, and the deal signed with Mexico City is now one of more than 30 such agreements intended to expand the use of electric vehicles worldwide.
