Reilly underscored that no final decisions have yet been made. The company will soon begin the information-sharing and consultation phase with all stakeholders.

“We must create a sustainable, viable business plan for Opel/Vauxhall. The competition is intense and getting fiercer every day. We have to reduce our costs,” Reilly said. “We must fight hard to keep our manufacturing operations in Europe viable.”

Bentley Luxurious Charity Bus

Bentley Luxurious Charity BusA former London Routemaster bus, which has been luxuriously restored by Bentley Motors, has today been handed over to the hospice St Luke’s.

St Luke’s, who are based in Winsford, Cheshire, secured the double-decker bus earlier this year and appealed to the luxury car manufacturer Bentley for help in its restoration. Bentley Motors has supported the hospice for the past three years, most recently in April when it helped renovate one of the hospice’s charity shops and rejuvenated the hospice garden during a production shutdown at its Crewe factory.

This latest project has taken 2000 hours to complete with 59 Bentley workers involved The team has sought to retain many of the original features of the bus but adapt it to the needs of St Luke’s in a typical Bentley way.

Elektromotive ExtendsBased Elektromotive has appointed green mobility experts, The PluginCompany, to install networks of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Belgium and Luxembourg. Pilot schemes will see the installation of 20 Elektrobay units in the two countries by the end of this year, ahead of significant further planned rollouts during 2010.

The first project for the two companies will begin next month, with the installation of an Elektrobay at the Brussels headquarters of LeasePlan, the world’s largest vehicle management and leasing provider. Installations at other LeasePlan locations will follow in 2010, supporting the company’s commitment to increasing the availability of low- and zero-emissions vehicles within its European fleets.

When Ruth Mason from Coogee shared her thoughts about her local community in a survey conducted by her local newspaper, it put her in the running to win a new Kia Cerato sedan.As the winner of the survey competition, Mrs Mason took delivery of her brand new Kia Cerato S sedan automatic at Overs City Kia, Mascot last Friday 20th November.

porsche.jpgPorsche Automobil Holding SE presented its company figures for the business year 2008/09, which covered Porsche operations from August 1, 2008 to July 31, 2009 and Volkswagen business for the six-month period from January to June 2009. This is because Porsche SE increased its voting share in Volkswagen AG above 50 per cent on January 5, 2009, leading to a full consolidation.

In his first official act as the new Chief Executive Officer of Porsche SE, Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn emphasized that both Porsche AG and Volkswagen AG continue to be profitable businesses, despite the difficulties in global markets. The company’s operating results for the reporting year stood at 1.9 billion euros. Within this, Porsche AG recorded a profit margin of 10.3 per cent, and Volkswagen of 2.4 per cent.
