Here we go again; another year, another annual makeover for Nissan’s halo sports car. Following on from the presentation of the GT-R in 2007, and after the revisions in December 2008 and October 2009, Nissan is getting ready to present a 2012MY version of its flagship sports model.
Even though the Japanese automaker has yet to make it official, the Nissan enthusiasts over at the GTRblog website posted some leaked images along with information on the updated model.

The folks over at the Russian media outlet, Dragtimes.info, have never held back when it comes to showing sick car racing videos. Whether it’s a Bugatti Veyron duking it out with a Nissan GT-R or a supercar showdown of epic proportions, these people always seem to have something up their sleeves.
This time around, they take a break from all the drag racing madness along the streets of Moscow to give us a sample of what they’re cooking up next: drifting.

Nissan appears to be preparing a new SpecM version of the upgraded for the 2011 model year, GT-R sports car, as several lightly camouflaged prototypes were spied testing at the Nurburgring race track. The SpecM model was rumored to debut at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, but that never happened.
The prototype GT-Rs seen in this video look like they are equipped with the same aero kit and forged alloy wheels as the more hardcore SpecV model, but with a different design for the quad-exhaust tips.

Porsche and Nissan regularly hit up the Nurburgring with the Porsche 911 and the Nissan GT-R to win bragging rights. Well, Nissan capitalized on its victory over Porsche at the Nurburgring with some aggressive guerrilla marketing activity used in a new campaign with slick titles such as “The Germans Came Off Wurst” and “The Winner Hans Down.”
Things heated up when Nissan showed up to the Goodwood Festival over last weekend with sports cars with logos of BMW, Audi and Porsche on the side with a five bar gate scoring system “etched” next to each brand showing the number of victories it had at the Nurburgring against them.

A “Club Track Edition” is being developed for the 2011 Nissan GT-R by Nismo in collaboration with Japanese racing outfitters Nova Engineering and Nordring.
Official specifications have not been released but according to Nismo’s website, the vehicle will be stiffer and lighter, and will have a full roll cage and very little comfort amenities. The vehicle arrives in dealerships in late July. From the images that were released, the vehicle has six-point racing harnesses, Hans-compliant Bride buckets, and 20-inch Rays forged wheels from the Club Sport/SpecV.
